Janeen’s love of the arts was “baked into the cake” from day one as she was born to her father, an actor and her mother, artistic director of Mississippi Ballet Theater. These influences served her well. At 2 and a half Janeen began dance class and at the age of 14 she was awarded a full scholarship at Balanchine’s School of American Ballet in New York City where she studied for 5 years.

She then moved to Los Angeles where she was cast as a lead dancer on the television series SOLID GOLD. Janeen choreographed the TV series PARTY MACHINE as well as serving as it’s lead dancer. She danced on numerous TV series and musical specials including The Academy Awards, Grammys and AMA’s. She was also the lead dancer in Prince’s BATDANCE and in Michael Jackson’s Disney 3-D spectacular CAPTAIN E-O directed by Francis Ford Coppola. She then landed the role of “Tiffany” on the CBS daytime drama CAPITOL. Some of her other on camera credits include; BUGSY, directed by Barry Levinson, ANNIE, dir. by John Huston, FOOTLOOSE, dir. by Herbert Ross and BASIC INSTINCT, dir. by Paul Verhoven.

Janeen then partnered with her husband, Michael Damian and the two have written and produced nine films and a television pilot together. Janeen served as writer/producer on MOONDANCE ALEXANDER, which won her Screenplay honors at L.A. Femme Film Festival. She executive produced and re-wrote two films for the launch of the horse film DVD franchise for 20th Century Fox, FLICKA 2 and FLICKA: COUNTRY PRIDE. Janeen also wrote/exec produced Fox’s family comedy MARLEY AND ME: THE PUPPY YEARS. Janeen wrote and produced the romantic comedy THE SWEETER SIDE OF LIFE starring Kathryn Morris and James Best and the holiday romantic comedy A PRINCESS FOR CHRISTMAS, which ranked as the #1 rated ad-supported cable movie of the week for the year. Janeen just wrapped principle photography on the romantic comedy LOVE BY DESIGN starring Jane Seymour, Giulia Nahmany and David Oakes which she also wrote and produced. Next up is the first installment on the dance film franchise HIGH STRUNG, which Janeen wrote and produced.
